Editorial

We are proud to present the third issue of COPAS: Current Objectives in Postgraduate American Studies.

After a quantitative as well as qualitative success in its inaugural year 2000 and an equally well-received follow-up issue, COPAS - as a forum for postgraduate scholarly exchange - is still struggling to establish itself as a constant. The editors thank the Bavarian American Academy (BAA) for supporting the initial stages of this project.

Despite not having been very successful in soliciting contributions from among the many interesting, thought-provoking and well-received papers presented at last year's PostGraduateForum at the Amerikahaus in Munich, we are glad to present a small yet distinguished selection.

This year's PostGraduateForum Conference will be held in Leipzig, Nov. 9-10, 2002. Please keep in mind that you will be able to reach yet a wider audience (and receive more responses to your work) if you publish your paper with us afterwards. Perhaps you have already written the perfect contribution? We may not be your first publisher, but we are certainly the fasted and most innovative one. As of this year, COPAS will advance and grow continuously with every contribution. Remember to check us out regularly!

COPAS, like the PGF, is devoted to active scholarly exchange between contributors and their audiences. The editors therefore encourage readers of COPAS to voice their opinions on single contributions and thus help to make the journal a lively forum for exchange. You may contact the editors at the University of Regensburg. With your approval, responses will be published on this site. So, spread the news and enjoy reading our latest edition.
